From 16th to 1st on Google for its own name.

B&P Forum, the Business & Philanthropy Forum, is a Singapore event on philanthropy with a plenary, a retreat and a library of speaker interviews. Below is our first month, from its own Search Console.

What was wrong when we started?

A test copy of the whole site, staging.bpforum.org, was in Google. In August 2026 it took 21,457 impressions, about 78% of everything Google showed for the forum, and almost nobody clicked it. We blocked it and had Google remove it. In September it had none.

Where does it rank for its own name now?

Searches for “business and philanthropy forum” moved from an average position of 16.4 in August to 1 in September. “business and philanthropy forum singapore” went from not ranking to 1.

Why did more searchers click?

Click-through rate went from 0.8% to 2.3%. Most of that is the duplicate leaving the count, because its impressions almost never turned into clicks. The real site grew on its own as well: counted page by page, its clicks rose 32%, from 211 to 279, and its average position went from 19.0 to 8.9.

A new blog, on Google's first page within weeks.

The blog did not exist in August. We published 9 articles in September, each built on the forum's own speaker interviews. Within weeks, 6 of the 7 articles with data averaged a first-page position on Google.

What did we change in month one?

What we do not claim. Clicks were already rising before we started, and an upcoming event drives searches for the forum’s name, so we do not credit all of the rise to our work. Total impressions fell from 27.3k to 11.4k because the duplicate left the index, which was the point.
